Description
The ZF 12 M-2R marine gearbox is a replacement for the Hurth HBW125, and the closest alternative to the now discontinued ZF 10 M-2R. It is a vertical offset transmission with mechanically actuated multi-disc clutches. The ZF 12 M provides a compact, simple to install, reliable solution for high performance applications in sailboats, motor yachts, fishing boats and is also able to withstand continuous duty applications such as in workboats. The design, manufacture and the quality control standards of the box comply with ISO 9001, and it is fully tested before leaving the factory.
The aluminium alloy casing is robust and lightweight, giving protection against any sea water that comes in contact with it. The gear teeth have all been case hardened and precisely ground to ensure smooth operation and long life. It includes an output shaft thrust bearing which is designed to take maximum propeller thrust.
