2AM8 R & D Marine Engine Damper Drive Plate

Fitted between the boat engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.

Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 2AM8 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D High Deflection element range. Common applications for the 2AM8 drive plate include Ford or Mitsubishi engines mated to a Borg Warner, Paragon, PRM, Technodrive, TMP, Twin Disc, Volvo or Hurth gearbox subject to flywheel dimensions.

- Spline: 26 teeth 20/40DP (35.4mm diameter) for Borg Warner 71, 72, 73, 5000, Newage PRM inline 301, 302, 401, 402, 500, 750, Paragon P series, Technodrive TM93, 170, 260, 345, 485, 545, 880, TMP 1200, 1500, Twin Disc 502, 501, Volvo Penta MS3, 4, 5, HS1 Sail Drive 110, 110S, New 270-280 Leg, ZF Hurth HSW 125, 450, 630, 800, HBW 250, 360, IRM 220A gearboxes.

- Diameter of drive plate back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 298.5mm (11.75")

- Back plate fixing holes (multi-hole fixing type): 6 x 8.1 on 200mm PCD, 6 x 8.1 on 250mm PCD, 6 x 8.1 on 269.9mm PCD and 6 x 8.1 on 273mm PCD

- Drive plate maximum thickness: 32mm (1.25")

Fitted with the softer type AM high deflection element for 135Nm 100 ft lb torque, providing a maximum deflection up to 30 degrees. This type of drive plate is especially suited to workboats with slow speed applications & pleasure boats. Note that this type of damper drive plate can only be fitted to rotate in the standard direction of rotation (anti-clockwise when looking at the flywheel) with the drive plate element facing the gearbox. These damper plates are also failsafe.
