Description

Furling gear is now an almost indispensable aid for the single handed sailor and racing man alike! To be able to furl the headsail quickly, especially when short-handed when mooring, waiting for the start or simply clearing your wind after setting the spinnaker makes life so much easier! Also paramount in furling with asymmetric kites when quickly rounding to windward.

Furling gear for dinghies and day boats up to Flying Dutchman size 6 metres (20 feet). Utilising either the single or endless line principle, (10% reductions for multi-hulls). The gear has stainless steel spindles and ball bearings to enhance working loads. The drum on the bottom swivels is of moulded acetal secured to a body made of a high grade anodised aluminium. Both top and bottom swivels have a plastic insert to prevent sail chafe. They have a break strain of 900kgs, (2000lb) and a fork spindle on the drum to fit most stemhead fittings. A separate forestay guide or top swivel complete with guide, as illustrated, is available.

Important Note: this system is intended for furling purposes only and should not be used as jib reefing system.
